U18 National Cup Draw

The following is the U18 National Cup draw;

Pool 3A; Brunell, JM&L Titans, Wildcats

Pool 3B; Limerick Celtics, DCU Mercy, Dunshaughlin Rockets.

We are the Host team for this Pool, games will take place over the weekend of 7th & 8th November 2015 in the Parochial Hall. We will post the shedule of games as soon as we have them.We will be looking for all club members to help out over the course of the weekend.

National Cup Draw

The only National Cup draw that we have available at the moment is thwe Women's National Cup which is Singleton SuperValu Brunell v Portlaoise Panthers which will take place over the weekend of 13th to 15th November.

U12 Pre Season Tournament in Limerick

Congratulations to Brunell U12 team who won the U12 Preseason tournament held by Limerick Celtics on last Saturday 19th September. Brunell won their 2 pool games and semi final by 20 points but had a tough game against Limerick Celtics in the final where the game was close until Brunell pulled away in last few minutes to win by 5 points.

Laura Brennan Memorial Tournament

The Brunell U18A team travelled to Dublin on Saturday 12th September 2015 to take part in the Laura Brennan Memorial Tournament hosted by Killester Basketball Club and played in St.Fintans,Sutton. The first game of the day saw Brunell take on Liffey Celtics and lose by 2 points . The second game of the day was against Killester which was a very tough affair with Brunell eventually coming out on the right side of the scoreline.  The last game of the day saw Brunell take on Phoenix 5pm and winning the game meaning that we finished runners up in Pool A. This left us with a semi-final against DCU Mercy which after a great battle was eventually was won by DCU. We would like to congratulate DCU Mercy on a great win in the final.On behalf of brunell basketball we would like to thank Killester Basketball Club especially Mark Grennell, Aisling O'Neill, and Pat & Nuala Brennan for a fantastic tournament.

Women's Premier League

The coaches have now selected the players that will be part of the Women's Premier league team we would like to thank everyone who has tried out or have shown an interest in playing on the team. The team will be announanced at the season launch of the Premier League team. Basketball Ireland have now released the Premier league fixtures for the season and these are now available in the game schedule section of the website.

Laura Brennan Memorial Tournament 2015

The clubs Under 18 team travel to dublin this weekend to take part in the Laura Brennan Memorial tournament. We have been drawn in a pool along with Killester, Liffey Celtics and Phoenix. Game times are as follows;

11.00am Brunell V Liffey Celtics

1.00pm Killester v Brunell

5.00pm Phoenix v Brunell

Semi-finals and the final take place on Sunday.

Womens Premier League Fixtures

The fixtures have now been released for the Basketball Ireland Womens Premier league. The team starts the season with a home game against Meteors on Sunday 4th October at 2.45pm in the Parochial Hall. The ull list of fixtures are available in the game schedule section of the website.

USA 2015

The Club would like to thank Coaches Kieran O’Leary and Kevin Harris for all their hard work in bring the clubs U18 team to the States this summer. The team had a fantastic trip in which they played eleven games over three days in Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. They spent five days in Des Moines and a further five days in Chicago where they got a chance to shop, see the sights and meet up with Katie Hannemann, who played Premier League with Brunell last season. A great trip was had by all thanks to the hard work of Kieran, Kevin and the parents of the team over the last year and a half.
